Die Hard Running is a long-run community from Kyiv, Ukraine the purpose of which is to popularize fast long running in Ukraine. To reach their goal, they have a group of leaders who consistently run a long workout of 20 km or more at a pace of 4:30 and 5:00 every Sunday.
It is free and open for everyone to come to the training and test his/her strength with the running crew. The idea of running diehard is simple - to look beyond what is possible, to run in a group, to become stronger.
I curated the whole project from the beginning and below are some key design materials created during our collaboration with the Die Hard team.
The base of the brand is its logo, therefore it was the first thing that was made. Die Hard has both, a symbolic logo (doberman), and a logotype. Doberman was chosen to represent the spirit of running community as it has a number of key qualities that make him a model of strength, beauty and grace:
- Exceptional fidelity and devotion to the owner - running movement;
- Strength and performance;
- Fearlessness in the face of challenge.
These qualities are the core values of Die Hard Running Ukraine.

The next design element which was very important for the community was their Instagram. All of their announcements are posted either through Instagram or Telegram, therefore the post design should go along with the brand's overall identity. Above are presented the new and old post designs which include the date of the run, distance, location, time, and pace groups.
On almost every run, Die Hard Running provides free water stations for their participants, especially during warmer seasons. To mark those stations and make them more visible for the runners, the owners of this organization created a flag. The design is simple and bold made in brand's colors so it doesn't get confused with anything else except Die Hard.

On their first birthday, Die Hard Running celebrated their community by coming up with a running merch. These t-shirts were manufactured in Kyiv, with a non-stitch technology on the sleeves to make the running more comfortable (similar to Nike's technology). Together with brand's signature design elements, this merch was presented to runners and was available for purchase.

In 2022, when the war in Ukraine started, Die Hard Running held a charity half-marathon in Kyiv to collect financial help for one of the community's member who was taken to the war's frontline. The final amount of participants was around 300 people and the organization was able to donate all the profits in support of that one member. Below are presented main design materials used in this event.
